Come what may, I will trust in the Lord.

"Though the fig tree does not bud and there is no fruit on the vines, though the olive crops fail and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will triumph in Yahweh; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. Yahweh my Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like those of a deer and enables me to walk on moutain heights." Habakkuk 3:17-19

These verses have stopped me in my tracks. The faith that Habakkuk had in the midst of darkness and in a time when everything seemed gone. That even in it all-he stood and praised the Lord. He believed that no matter what happened, God was STILL God. Do I trust God only conditionally? That if He does what I think He is supposed to do THAN He is God? I'd like to say yes-but do I really?

I started inserting life obstacles in this verse and would invite you to do it with me.

Though the ____ doesn't come to fruition, though the ____ fail and produce nothing, though there are no _____ around and no _____ available, YET we will triumph in Yahweh! We will rejoice in the God of our salvation. Yahwah our God is our stregnth; He makes our feet like those of a deer and enables us to walk on mountain heights!

Come what may, let us trust in the Lord. Let us walk out in the confidence and assurance that the God of Heaven and Earth is our mighty Warrior who will save us.

"Yahweh your God is among you, a Warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will bring you quietness with His love. He will delight in you with shouts of joy." Zephaniah 3:17

Did you read that? Go back and read it again believing that it was addressed to you. That the Father of all rejoices over you with the utmost gladness and the next part-He will bring you quietness with His love. Are you kidding me? Who could use a little quietness AND God's love all in one? But we must remember, this isn't the worlds version of quiet where we escape to a room so we can just sit on our phone for a few minutes with no interruptions ( no shame) but its a quietness from WITHIN. A quietness that can stand the storms and obstacles of life. A quietness that knows no matter what-God is God and He sees and hears every word. E v e r y   w o r d.

And then let's not us forget the last one- He will DELIGHT in you with shouts of joy. Think of the biggest birthday bash you've ever seen and apply that to your life and times it by eternity. OH, and the host is God, looking at you with love and joy and thanksgiving.

I share these things because sometimes in the midst of hard seasons or seasons of wondering or pain or transition or that in-between- all we will have to cling to is knowing that even if life doesn't look like we want it to- God is still God and He has given us His living and active Word to carry us through in the desert- reminding us that it won't last forever but that He will. That our pain will be temporary, but His love will be forever.

God of the mourning. God of the mending. God of the in-between. And God of my everythings.

Until next time,

Alyssa
